Recently, at a routine press conference, the National Energy Administration stated that China will further strengthen the safety protection of onshore oil pipelines and promote new progress in the construction of intelligent pipeline monitoring systems. As the pipeline network continues to expand, safety management has become a top priority in the industry's development.
According to reports, this year the focus will be on advancing the construction of a full life-cycle safety management system for pipelines, including installing smart sensing devices in key sections, improving leakage monitoring systems, and increasing the coverage of pipeline inspection robots. Some pilot areas have already achieved real-time monitoring of pipeline operational status and automatic alerts for abnormal conditions, effectively enhancing the safety and reliability of pipeline operations.
At the same time, the country will strengthen the governance of the environment surrounding pipelines, strictly enforce safety protection distance requirements, and reinforce supervision of third-party construction to prevent safety risks at the source. Local regions are also actively conducting pipeline safety awareness campaigns to raise the safety consciousness of residents along the pipelines.
Experts noted that with the continuous application of intelligent technology, China's capability for onshore pipeline safety protection will continue to improve, providing more solid support for national energy security and stable economic and social operations.
